The broadcasting industry has always been intriguing which probably helped to inspire the creation of my radio show, Sound Behavior in Detroit, MI.
Moving South with a collapsing economy commanded a new strategy for Sound Behavior. By changing the format from live to a recording we were fortunate to record my shows in the Studios of 91.9 FM here in Charlotte, NC.
Joe Paulo was the GM of 91.9 and both he and his staff were amazing as some exceptional relationships were birthed and remain today.
Through the process of our recordings I began assisting Joe and his staff with the behavioral side of communications, hiring and pairing radio personalities. During this development Joe introduced me to John Owens, General Manager at their sister station in Columbia, SC, and, soon we began working together.
Several years later John called me, “Don are you still doing what you were doing when we last worked together?” John had recently accepted the position of General Manger for Blue Ridge Broadcasting Network, 106.9 FM and needed some assistance of understanding his staff.
Most of world is familiar with Billy Graham and his paramount radio ministry. The Blue Ridge Broadcasting continues to breath Billy Graham’s legacy spreading today’s encouragement of the gospel of Jesus from their heavenly hilltop in Asheville, NC.
Last week I was honored with the humbling opportunity of working with their management team and staff members, teaching and encouraging everyone with the behavioral measurements of PDP and depth of “The Why You Do”!
